Favorite 90's Inspired Lip Products

The 90's are back and they're better than ever! Brown lipstick, matte foundation and super defined contouring have been taking over makeup trends these days (and let's not forget the scrunchies, baggy pants and denim everything in fashion right now as well). But for some of us, wearing brown lipstick on the daily is not something we look forward to, as brown lipstick has a tendency to make most of us look older, and a bit dated.

However, if you still are interested in following the trend, without looking like a dated mess, here are some lip products to ease you into your Buffy alter ego, without overdoing it.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in In the Red
This lipstick is one of my old favorites. It is a perfect brick red with brownish undertones. The formula is creamy and soft; and the matte texture makes it last forever on your lips.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Adore
I love me some Revlon Balm Stains and you guys know it! Adore is also an old favorite I retired after switching to its brighter red companion Romantic, but now it has officially returned better than ever. This is also a brick red with brownish undertones, but unlike In the Red, Adore is not matte. The balm leaves a glistening (but not glossy) finish on the lips, so I would recommend this more if you are not a fan of matte textures. Unlike the other products on this list, this is also a stain and as such, it can be a bit drying on the lips at the end of the day, but it's nothing a little retouching/lip balm can't fix.

Revlon Colorburst Matter Balm in Sultry
The moment I tried this I thought "This is sooo 90's." Unlike the previous two, this one has more of a mauve tone rather than brown. It is also matte, but amazingly nondrying. Sultry would probably be my top recommendation if you are looking to try a modernized version of lip products in the 90's. Cannot rave about this one enough! (Side note: if you guys haven't tried the Colorburst Matte Balms, what have you been doing with your lives? They are amazing, super creamy, and rave worthy!)

Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick By Kate in 104
Now we're turning things down a notch. Rimmel's 104 is a mauve with slight berry undertones. While it is certainly not as dramatic, nor does it scream 90's, this color is a perfect everyday satiny mauve.

Wet n' Wild Lipstick in 906D Wine Room
If you are really shy about trying this new trend, I really recommend Wine Room. Unlike the others in this list, Wine Room isn't as dramatic, and its pinkish undertones make it totally wearable for everyday.

Those are my picks for the best 90's inspired lip products. If you guys have tried any of the lip products above let me know. Also, I am really interested in what you guys think about the 90's trends coming back? Let me know in the comments!
