FAVORITES | July 2016

This Summer I've really been trying to focus on my skin, and I think my favorites really reflect that. I normally have dry, sensitive skin; however, I find that it fluctuates between normal and dry in the Summer. Its unpredictability annoys me, to be honest.

MAKEUP
NARS Sheer Glow Foundation in Punjab
My holy-grail, will-probably-use-forever, why-do-you-have-to-be-so-expensive foundation. It is one of the most natural-looking foundations I've tried, and the slightly dewy effect works wonders for my skin. I will say that it doesn't have the highest coverage, but it is very buildable. I'd say it can go from super light to medium-high coverage, but if you're looking for intense coverage, this may not be the one for you.

I personally like to just even out my skin tone with a light foundation –– about one-and-a-half to two pumps of this is enough for me –– and spot conceal any acne scars afterwards, and this works great for that.

The downside? It's $45. 😭

MAYBELLINE Fit Me! Shine-Free Balance Foundation in Toffee
Now I know that the shade difference between these two is insane, but there is a method to my madness here. I actually use this as a contour/bronzer. Because this is a stick foundation, I find that it is incredibly easy and fast to blend into my skin, and it looks a lot more natural than some powders I've used in the past.

REVLON Colorburst Lipstick in Sienna
I've had this one in my collection for about 2 years. Yes, I know that you're not supposed to have makeup for that long, but I actually never used this in those 2 years. Ever. The color was incredibly intimidating so I just never pulled it out until recently when I wanted that dark brown lip. This wasn't it.

It's definitely not as pigmented as it appears, but I found that that worked really great for me. It has a slightly red undertone which looks good on my skin tone, but I will say that if you're looking for something similar to True Brown K, this isn't it.

SKINCARE
OLE HENRIKSEN Sheer Transformation Creme & OLE HENRIKSEN Truth Serum Collagen Booster*
You can check out my first impressions of these in my previous post, and my thoughts have pretty much remained the same. My skin drinks them up, and I have noticed that it is both more balanced, and the skin tone itself is a lot more even. I'm starting to run desperately low –– mostly on the creme –– but I'm definitely willing to invest in a full size of each in the future.

BODY CARE
NIVEA Aclarado Natural Antitranspirante
I picked this up in Mexico a few months back. I've been on the hunt for a whitening deodorant for years, but have been unable to find anything, so when I found these in Mexico, I stocked up. I don't have a lot of discoloration under my arms, but I do get razor burn and irritation a lot, and this helps even out the skin tone a bit.

That being said, I'd appreciate any recommendations for similar products here in the US, preferably in stick/solid form. I can't keep traveling to Mexico for these!

EQUATE Refreshing Apricot Scrub
I bought this a while back when my normal scrub just wasn't cutting it. I liked it enough for my face, but it's definitely too rough for me too use on a regular basis, so I started using it on my body and fell in love. The larger granules work great for exfoliation without irritating my skin, and it doesn't dry out my skin in the process. I'll definitely continue to use this as a body scrub – for my face on the other hand I'm not so sure.

And those are some of the products I loved this past month. What are some of your favorites? Let me know in the comments below!
